Our Scholars: Conversations

It was the privilege of being an Aditya Birla Scholar that gave me the confidence to pursue each opportunity that I was presented with at law school. My team won several accolades at the prestigious Willem. C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition 2024. Additionally, I became a member of the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Constitutional Law last year. This scholarship provided me with a platform, resources, and network to amplify my impact and contribute meaningfully to the world.

Aditya Birla scholarship has always emphasised holistic excellence across academics, leadership potential, integrity, and commitment to community services. This scholarship has only strengthened my motivation to take up a leadership position and to provide mentorship and guidance to the students from our esteemed alums. I hope to create meaningful and positive change in the society around me and carry forward this legacy.

Earning the Aditya Birla Scholarship was a truly humbling experience. This is much more than a scholarship; it's an institution that celebrates multifaceted excellence. To the Aditya Birla Group, my deepest gratitude for nurturing scholars who dream of transforming lives at warp speed. This journey for me has just begun, and I, an Aditya Birla Scholar, am here to preserve.

Being an Aditya Birla Scholar is both an honour and a responsibility that has motivated me to learn beyond academics. It rewired my approach to growth, leadership and opportunity. The Scholarship shifted my mindset from participation to ownership. At IIM Shillong, I actively participated in case competitions and inter-institute events, while also taking on leadership roles in group projects. My internship, where I managed an end-to-end project, and my volunteer work at the annual Golf Cup further strengthened my skills in ownership, collaboration and leadership.

The Aditya Birla Scholarship continues to be an extremely motivating factor, pushing me to perform at my best in any academic undertaking. Knowing that my previous scholars have gone on to do commendable things is a constant reminder of what I am expected to be. I am indebted to the Aditya Birla Foundation for being the reason for my desire for excellence.

One of the most transformative experiences has been my involvement with project AeRoVe under the Technical Team UMIC. I was one of the only five students from IIT Bombay and twelve from India to secure an internship at Samsung Korea. Being an Aditya Birla Scholar has been a cornerstone of my journey, providing me with the platform and resources to pursue excellence and make meaningful contributions.

This scholarship has been a catalyst for my professional and personal growth. I recently got the opportunity to draft India’s statement for the 75th session of the International Law Commission held in Geneva, Switzerland. Encouraged by the trust instilled in me, I remain eager to contribute to the culture of excellence and leadership espoused by the Aditya Birla Scholarship.

The scholarship ceremony was profoundly inspirational. Engaging with inspiring leaders was a remarkable experience. This scholarship enabled me to exemplify the values of discipline and perseverance among my peers. During my summer internship at McKinsey & Company, I applied these principles by being an agile learner and a reliable team member. Being associated with the Aditya Birla Group is a privilege that I hold in high esteem.

The scholarship gave me the confidence to walk into spaces believing my capabilities were enough. For someone who has long struggled with anxiety, that recognition became transformative. It allowed me to not only excel at what I thought I could do but also explore spaces I had never imagined myself capable of navigating. That affirmation has gone a long way in shaping who I am and how I continue to grow.

Coming from a medical background, I see management as a way to widen my impact. At IIM Lucknow, I’ve led alumni engagement initiatives, organised industry sessions, represented my hostel in sports and won national competitions. The Aditya Birla Scholarship has motivated me to pursue excellence with depth and sincerity, and shaped how I define success. It has motivated me to lead with integrity and to bring together medicine and management to create meaningful change.

The Aditya Birla Scholarship reinforced for me that excellence isn’t a static destination but the continuous pursuit of curiosity, empathy and growth. It reaffirmed for me that success and excellence are most meaningful when grounded in a strong foundation of values. At IIM Ahmedabad, I have taken initiatives in classroom, at student forums, during my internship and beyond, with confidence, purpose and integrity.

Aditya Birla Scholarship goes beyond financial aid and it's a constant source of motivation, driving me to work hard and strive for excellence in all endeavours. I have learnt immensely, pushed my limits, and achieved milestones that once seemed unattainable. This scholarship has not only opened doors for me but also empowered me to create a positive impact on society.

Coming from a rural school, stepping into NALSAR was daunting. The Aditya Birla Scholarship gave me the confidence, clarity and courage to embrace opportunities to lead student committees, mentor underprivileged students, and win national competitions. When I represented the State of Kerala and won the first prize at the State-level National Youth Parliament, it reminded me that my dreams aren’t limited by my background and inspired me to rise to meet them.

Being an Aditya Birla Scholar means thinking creatively, staying curious about the world, and striving to make it a better place. This scholarship gave me a lot of freedom, a lot of it was financial, to pursue opportunities that would not be the most lucrative otherwise, and that is a privilege not many people would have. I aspire to make the most out of this opportunity to join the judiciary; in my belief, justice must be accessible to everyone.

Entering my fourth year as an Aditya Birla Scholar, I find myself more motivated to uphold the prestige of this esteemed recognition. My commitment to international legal exposure, supported by the scholarship’s global outlook, led me to represent my university at the World rounds of the CPR International Mediation Competition in Brazil in 2024. I’m honoured to have been shortlisted for the Vacation Scheme processes at Herbert Smith Freehills and Allen & Overy Shearman, reflecting the industry’s recognition of my potential.
