Our Scholars: Conversations

Meet the Aditya Birla Scholars

The Aditya Birla Scholarship is awarded to students who show not just academic grit but also extra-curricular excellence and have a passion to lead and change the world. We are proud to dedicate this space to all our past Scholars and invite them to share their fascinating journeys in both their academic and professional lives.
I started out as a Management Trainee at Johnson & Johnson in 2018, and went on to lead a team of Sales Officers to win Best Performing Area Sales Manager in 2020 — becoming the first woman to win this honour at the company. I then pursued a Brand Manager role at Flipkart, leading their Private Brands business for two categories wherein I cracked a licensing deal with the brand MasterChef to launch its products in India through Flipkart. I received a fast-track promotion within a year and am currently handling the P&L for Flipkart Group’s new venture, Shopsy.

Being an Aditya Birla Scholar is an honour, and it will remain a lifelong achievement for me. It has instilled in me a drive to set higher standards for myself, both in my student and professional life. I graduated from the WB National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, in 2021 and currently work with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai as an associate in its Private Client Practice. As a part of the team, I specialise in providing legal advice to business families, startup founders, and high-net-worth individuals on matters relating to estate and succession planning (trusts and wills), family settlements, and philanthropic endeavours (charitable/non-profit entities, receipt of foreign contributions, and corporate social responsibility).

As an Aditya Birla scholar, my life has been enriched with several remarkable highlights. After graduating with multiple gold medals from India’s premier law school, I have consistently demonstrated academic excellence, solidifying my foundation of knowledge and commitment to learning. Currently, I have the privilege of working with the leading strategic M&A team at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where I counsel top global companies and facilitate transformative deals that reshape industries and economies. I also became the youngest coach at the prestigious ICC Mediation Tournament, Paris, championing alternative dispute resolution methodologies. As an arbiter in multiple tournaments, I have spearheaded the resolution revolution, driving forward the ethos of peaceful conflict resolution. Beyond my professional pursuits, I devote my time to Teach for India, empowering underprivileged children through the art of dance.
