  BITS Pilani

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, BITS, located in the Vidya Vihar campus adjacent to the town of Pilani in Rajasthan is an institute for specialised technical education. The institute was envisioned by its founder, the late Mr G.D.Birla - an eminent industrialist; a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. What started in early 1900s as a small school blossomed into a set of colleges for higher technical education and later on, culminated into a unique Indian university of international reputation, christened the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, known to many as BITS Pilani.

Over the years, BITS has provided the highest quality of technical education to students from all over India who are admitted on the basis of merit. Its graduates and post graduates are placed in companies of high repute throughout the world contributing largely in engineering, science and commerce. BITS Pilani symbolises India's self-sufficiency in technology and engineering and promotes entrepreneurial spirit.
